Project Overview

ECMWF, as the Entrusted Entity for the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS), invites tenders for the development and provision of observation-based hot-spot emissions of CH4, NO2, and CO2. The project aims to extend the monitoring of large point sources to include nitrogen oxides (NOx) and carbon dioxide (CO2) and prepare for the uptake of CO2M observations. Key tasks include implementing a pre-operational service for NOx detection, developing methodologies for emission estimation from satellite observations, and evaluating the use of NO2 estimates to constrain CO2 and CH4 emission sources. The contract duration is 27 months with an estimated value of 3,750,000 EUR.

Development and provision of observation-based hot-spot emissions of CH4, NO2, and CO2 from existing satellites and the first CO2M mission for the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS).
